Objectives

The first edition of the school-Maghreb ISWI 2013 provide an opportunity for young researchers to deepen their knowledge in various areas of Space Weather.

It will also provide an opportunity for researchers and scientists from the Maghreb who want to learn or acquire a new profile associated with the proposed theme. It will acquire the skill to use existing data sets and tools related to studies of Space Weather, participate and contribute to international projects

In this school, participants will receive specific courses presented by speakers specialized in this area. This school will host sessions (debates and tutorials). Tours of some research centers in the region will be organized. A cultural program is designed to allow participants to visit the city and learn about its history.

The school will also bring together young researchers from different countries to build lasting relationships and fruitful.

Participants are encouraged to present their research in poster format. A one-page summary must be submitted with the request for participation.

This first edition of School Space Weather will be perpetuated by other schools in the Maghreb with a periodicity of 2 years which will update the knowledge of researchers / students in high-tech fields

The school will be conducted in Bandung, home for many research and academic institutes in Indonesia including Space Science Center of LAPAN and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). Space Science Center of LAPAN is well established institute for space researches in South East Asia region and have run various conferences and workshops before. LAPAN has also run space weather observation located in Sumedang observatory. Near this city, there is also Bosscha Observatory, a well astronomical observatory with long research and academic tradition which play important roles in astronomical development in Indonesia and in the region. With academic support from Astronomy Division, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Bosscha observatory has lead astronomical research activities in Indonesia.

ISYA 2013 invites the participation of young astronomers mainly, but not exclusively, from astronomically developing countries. Participants should generally have finished first degree studies, particularly on astronomy and physics. Participants can come from small institution so that they are advanced in one topic but they must start at a BSc level for most other topics in astronomy.
