28 May 2013

Dear ISWI Participant:

The following information is from the United Nations Office on Outer Space Affairs and concerns a special research satellite project.

The UNBSSI (see attached UN document) pursued in the period of time from 1997 to 2005 a satellite project entitled
"World Space Observatory / Ultraviolet" (WSO/UV)

It was to be implemented by the Russian Space Agency and European partners, and is one of the biggest projects pursued through the UNBSSI.

Progress is occurring. Goto http://wso.inasan.ru/ for additional information on this satellite mission.

There is also now a short video-clip on the WSO/UV. To view it, please visit the ISWI website at http://www.iswi-secretariat.org/ . Then click on "Publications" , then on "ISWI related Videos", and then on the first video on the presented menu. You can view the satellite, and the envisioned launch of it.
