ISWI Newsletter - Vol.4 No.106
23 October 2012

Dear ISWI Participant:

The ISWI Newsletter is open for business again. I was in Ecuador for the past two weeks and so the newsletter was closed.

Today, there are two news items:

(1) The "UN/Ecuador Workshop on ISWI" was tremendously productive. I have much to show and tell about this workshop in several newsletter issues during the coming weeks. For a start, I attach 50 random photos. I will arrange to show more photos in the future. Many thanks to Prof. E. Lopez for a job well done in organizing this ISWI workshop at Hotel Quito; all of the hospitality was splendid.

(2) Also thanks to Prof. Lopez, the MAGDAS Project was able to install its 69th real time magnetometer at a quiet location 28 km north of Quito at a place called "Jerusalem Park". Fifty random pictures are attached as one pdf.

This installation was done in the days after the aforementioned workshop. The Kyushu University team (myself and two grad students) wishes to thank three members of Prof Lopez's staff for their generous help: (1) Kleber, (2) Christian, and (3) Nicholas. The job could not have been finished without their assistance.

If you have recently installed hardware in the field, please send photos to me so that they can be shared with the entire ISWI community.

Most faithfully yours,
George Maeda
