ISWI Newsletter - Vol.3 No.15
31 January 2011

Dear ISWI Participant:

I would like to remind you that nominations are being sought for the AGU Basu Award (refer to ISWI Newsletter Volume 3, Number 4). In addition this comment has arrived from Dr Hans Haubold:

Colleagues,

UNOOSA would like to encourage you looking for opportunities to recognize IHY/ISWI instrument operators by awards at national, regional, and international levels for the unique and outstanding work done to implement the call of UN member States to devote more attention and action to monitor and record solar-terrestrial interaction in terms of space weather phenomena. Please contact me if you need a letter of recommendation from the United Nations to support applications for such awards ...

Thank you, Hans Haubold

On a different matter:

The Space Environment Research Center (SERC) now makes available its new "EE Index" (where EE means "Equatorial Electrojet"). You can view it at our website (www.serc.kyushu-u.ac.jp). This index is listed on the left-hand side of the main web page. This index is explained in greater detail in the attached paper by Dr Uozumi, et al. Please enjoy our new index!

Cordially yours,
