Session of the Legal Subcommittee of UNCOPUOS started today

The session of the Legal Subcommittee of UNCOPUOS started today in Vienna. The member States representatives of the 69 nations will receive one copy of the printed version of the ISWI Newsletter.

The session of the main committee of UNCOPUOS will convene in June 2010. This will be the next opportunity to deliver the ISWI Newsletter to member States.

After the June session, all remaining copies of the ISWI Newsletter will be mailed to space education entities around the world.

Japan"s ISWI Kick Off Meeting was successfully held

Last week on 3 March 2010, Kyushu University successfully hosted Japan"s ISWI Kick Off Meeting in Fukuoka Japan. Over 50 researchers and students from all over Japan attended this meeting. At this meeting, Prof. Yumoto unveiled photos of MAGDAS 9. Fifty of these new magnetometers are now being manufactured by a specialist firm. When these units are installed all over the world, they will constitute Japan"s most significant contribution to ISWI. End of this message.

Today, small changes were made in the menu "Calendar of Events". The first ISWI workshop in Egypt, was separated from other related to ISWI meetings.

To these were added two new conferences: 1 / Workshop on the Applications of Global Navigation Satellite Systems 17 - 21 May 2010 in Chisinau, Moldova and 2 / Thunderstorms and Elementary Particle Acceleration (TEPA-2010) 6-11 September 2010, Armenia.

In the last week have made some changes to the list of national coordinators.

ISWI Kick Off Meeting in Japan (First International Announcement)

Japan"s "ISWI Kick Off Meeting" is scheduled for 3-5 March 2010. It is being organized by Dr Obara of JAXA as part of Japan"s ISWI activities. It will be held in Fukuoka ...       near the Hakozaki Campus of Kyushu University. Program is now being drafted. This meeting is primarily a domestic affair however I post this news because it can be used for reference by ISWI national committees in other countries around the world.
