2nd edition of the Space Weather School
in Maghreb
February 16 to 25, 2015, at CRASTE-LF, Rabat, Morocco

Objectives
The second edition of the Maghreb 2015 ISWI school provides an opportunity for students from the Maghreb and West Africa to improve their level of expertise to enable them to participate and contribute to international projects.

The two key points of the school for scientists from the Maghreb and West Africa are the development of skills:

- To use existing data sets and tools relating to terrestrial environment studies (less than 10% of the existing data are used);

- To use the results of studies based on environmental science and sustainable development and combining ground data with satellite data (example: geophysical studies, telecommunications, etc ...).

In addition the school will point out the impact of solar events on the immediate environment of the Earth (ionosphere and atmosphere). We study the effect of these solar phenomena on GNSS and terrestrial magnetic field.

The second school of Space Weather edition follows the first school in Algiers in 2013, and is the continuation by other schools in the Maghreb with a period of 2 years which will update the knowledge of researchers / students in advanced fields.

Topics
  • GNSS/Ionosphere
  • GNSS/Troposphere
  • Sun Earth’s relationship
    • Space Weather : a global approach
    • The auroral inosphere
    • The equatorial ionosphere and its electrodynamics coupling with the auroral ionosphere
    • Impact of the sun on the atmosphere
    • Impact of the sun on the Earth’s magentic field
